GeForce GTX 1070: Best Overall notebook graphics card for those without an unlimited budget!
GeForce GTX 1080: Highest Performance, no compromise on performance laptop graphics card!
The introduction of the new GTX 10 series graphics cards for laptops will change laptop gaming forever, creating the opportunity for a top-end gaming laptop to be just as powerful as a high-end gaming desktop PC.
Below is our guide to the top pascal laptops available on the market from all major manufacturers. Enjoy!
Could this be the best gaming laptop you can buy in 2018? It sure could be. The specs of the razer blade are pretty extraordinary given the small form factor – i7, GTX 1060 Pascal GPU, 16GB of RAM, I can keep going…
Is this a gaming tower in disguise? Judging by the performance of this GTX 1060 laptop, I wouldn’t rule it out.
If your looking for a 1060 laptop which is extremely versatile in any situation – gaming, graphic intensive programs, portability, college, this is probably the best gaming laptop to go for.
The GE62VR by MSI is a great option for those looking for a mid-budget gaming laptop packing a GTX 1060 card. This machine really packs a punch – its fast, looks great and boy do we like its SteelSeries keyboard. The specs this laptop produces are seriously impressive and are like-for-like in performance to a conventional tower gaming PC. The GE62VR can easily max out on graphics on the latest titles such as Witcher 3 @ 1080p.
MSI is the top producer of 17.3-inch GTX 1060 laptops, so in this section I will mainly advise on which one to get if your looking for a GTX 1060 laptop with a larger screen. The Stealth Pro is a good option for those who want blistering graphics performance but also like the slimmer form factor which many gaming laptops don’t offer.
Go for this variant of the GS73VR Stealth Pro if you want to put the GTX 1060 to good use in playing AAA titles at 4k resolution. It really does it well.
The Dominator line is a suitable fit for the gamer who doesn’t mind about sacrificing portability and slim design for downright, insane graphics performance.
We really like the Apache Pro model as it offers the GTX 1060 but is far more affordable and opens up this level of performance to many who would never have been able to afford it.
The ASUS ROG Strix DB74 is the only great 17.3-inch GTX 1060 laptop on offer which isn’t produced by MSI! We love the design, performance, and well everything about this laptop. If we were to pick any laptop on this list – it would probably be this one. Its a great all rounder.
Big fan of this machine by the boys at ASUS. Packing the latest i7 quad core CPU and of course the important GTXTM 1070 GPU – this GTX gaming laptop really does fly. The wide view panel is very impressive – offering a viewing angle of up to 160 degrees! This should be a top contender if you are in the market for a GTX 1070 laptop.
Gigabytes GTX 1070 laptop on offering if their P35XV6 notebook – and it really counts as a beauty and a beast of a laptop. Why do we say beautiful? Well, its sleek and has a slim design that you don’t often see in gaming laptops, it sure can be passed as a work computer any day of the week, and no-one will realise that it actually packs a GTX 1070 GPU on board! Did we mention it has a 4k screen, matte finish and is seriously lightweight?!
When it comes to GTX 1070 laptops it seems that MSI were definitely first on the scene and have claimed top-of-the-leaderboard since. Their GT62VR Dominator Pro does not go against this – with this laptop in particular being an absolute beauty. We particularly like its Steel Series keyboard as its a delight to work with, the anti-glare IPS screen has impressive viewing angles and color range – making any game seem even more immersive.
Just look at this thing. This laptop is a born-and-bred beast. Throw any game at it, max settings of course, and this GTX 1070 laptop will barely break a sweat. The G752VS OC edition has plenty of cooling to allow for the performance, as well as a non-glare display to really make the colors pop.
This GTX 1070 laptop is perfect for the gamer who doesn’t want everyone knowing that they are a gamer just by looking at their laptop. This thing is stealthy and can easily be mistaken for a work computer by its looking. But when it comes to performance, this can make any top AAA game looks like childs play.
A step up on already-impressive GT62 VR Dominator Pro – this just turns all the dials up another notch. Very impressive stuff from the people at MSI.
This dual GTX 1070 offers probably more graphics power than you will ever need when playing ANY game at 1080p, although if your willing to spend this amount of money on a dual GTX 1070 gaming laptop, then your probably look to game at 4k resolution. Thankfully, this laptop can do it, and do it well it does. This thing really is a 8lb monster, but it sure is a great thing to watch when it starts getting going.
Read what I said about the GT73 VR Titan SLI – then apply everything to a factor of 2. That is what the GT83VR can do. I can’t think of many laptops ever produced that are faster than this thing. If your looking for the absolute ultimate gaming laptop, then please don’t waste your time and look any further than the MSI GT83VR Titan SLI.
Being one of the only gaming laptops on the market bearing the almighty Pascal GTX 1080 graphics card, you only really have one choice when coming to buy a GTX 1080 laptop – that is, of course, the MSI GT73VR Titan Pro (also available with a beautiful 4k display panel).
At just under $5000, this thing packs dual GTX 1080s to produce possibly the fastest gaming laptop to hit the market… EVER.
What are the top 3 gaming laptops that have pascal graphics, including the gtx 1060, 1070 and 1080. So that monumental leap in performance in the desktop 9 series to the 10 series, we are now experiencing to even a larger margin in the laptop market with the new pascal gaming laptops! So lets talk about the specifications of the gtx 10 series pascal graphics cards!
They have dropped the ‘M’ badge of the pascal GPUs, and have the specifications to match and performance to their desktop counterparts of the GTX 10 series. One of the most notable things is the GTX 1070 in the laptop has more CUDA cores but a reduction in clock speed, the core and boost clock are more than the minimum set by Nvidia. The base and boost often go much higher. We really are now getting desktop like performance in these new pascal laptops. So what FPS does this translate into? Picking the top GTX 10 series desktop chips and comparing them to the new GTX 10 series laptops, we can expect there to be a 10% decrease to there desktop counterparts but the online databases have suggested otherwise, with the pascal cards experiencing better FPS than claimed. There is an expected 156% increase in performance from the GTX 970M to the new 10 Series chip GTX 1080. From the GTX 1070 to the GTX 1080 there would be expected to see an 20% average FPS increase.
Up first claiming the third sport is the MSI GS73VR with a 4k 17.3-inch display, thats right 4K so you will be getting that insane resolution right on the laptop of which the GTX 1060 can take advantage of that higher resolution without sacrificing refresh rate. It notable has a 512gb SSD although compared to its younger brother this costs a little bit more coin at just under $2100. MSI do offer a 14″ variant which comes in at under $1500, and includes the new pascal graphics cards!
The Razer Blade comes in at our second spot and replaces their 970M chip in the previous generation Blade and is replaced with the new Pascal GPU, so expect to see insane performance gains in terms of FPS and graphics performance!
The best Pascal laptop to buy right now has to be the ASUS GL502 which features the new GTX 1070 mobile chip from Nvidia. The ROG Strix GL502VS features intels hallmark mobile CPU, the i7-6700HQ, a great choice for gaming laptops and also features Intel’s skylake CPU architecture. The GTX 1070 featured has 8GB of GDDR5 memory, a 256GB SSD as well as a crisp 1080p IPS screen with wide viewing angles. It is a great choice for anyone who wants a Pascal laptop right now.
