In this guide we try to help make clear the main differences between AMDs current generation Ryzen Zen and the upcoming Ryzen Zen+ and Ryzen Zen 2 https://www.howtogeek.com/287206/what–is–a–chipset–and–why–should–i–care/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>chipsets. Let us know if you have any questions about the upcoming AMD chipsets and we hope this is useful to those looking to do a Ryzen build in the near future!
So far we are hearing with leaked benchmarks and reviews is that the 2nd generation Ryzen CPUs will be built on 12nm technology, resulting in a performance increase of about 10% when compared to the 1st generation Ryzen chips built on 14nm technology.
Many of the 2nd generation Ryzen chips will feature blisteringly fast APUs, with the Risen 5 2440G and Risen 3 2200G having onboard Ryzen graphics which show impressive performance and perhaps reducing the need at all for having a discrete https://www.gearbest.com/blog/how–to/what–is–graphics–card–and–which–graphics–cards–are–suitable–for–you–2741” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>graphics card for gaming – especially needed with the current prices of graphics cards in todays market.

Looking at AMDs X86 roadmap, they have introduced ‘Zen 2’ as their next generation chip built on an entirely new 7nm architecture, we should expect to see this in perhaps a year or two – with it already rumoured to be complete right now. If they are able to achieve the claims they have set it, AMD will surely upset the current CPU market.

We haven’t heard too much about the differences of X470 and X370 chipsets, but we do know that chipset lanes are all PCIe 3rd generation and at least some of the manufacturers will offer superior VRM cooling and VRM components (such as 2 additional Vcore phases) when compared to the X370 chipset motherboards.
Summary
No word or news yet on the differences between B450 and B350 chipsets. We will update this section when we hear more.
What we know so far that the new Ryzen 7 2700X will see at least a 300MHz upgrade over the previous generation Ryzen 7 1700X, with clocks up to 3.7GHz and 4.1GHz with boost. In terms of performance enhancements, we should see approximately 15% increases in synthetic benchmarks and only about 5% increase in gaming benchmarks and stress tests. There have been recent https://hothardware.com/news/amd–ryzen–7–2700x–benchmark–leaks–43ghz–overclocking–potential–all–cores“>leaks also about its true capabilities.
